WELCOME TO WESTERN NC: TROUT CENTRAL: Franklin, North Carolina; My name is Tom Hopkins. Welcome to my world of trout fishing. My passion for fly fishing started in the 1950's when my father taught me how to catch bluegill on a JC Higgins bamboo fly rod/Medalist reel, with a yellow popper out of a wooden row boat. Things have changed a bit, but not my desire to catch and help others catch fish with the long rod...especially our North Carolina Trout, Brookies, Browns, and Rainbows. Teaching a newcomer how to fly cast is only second to teaching one how to cast and read the waters, choose the fly, and catch trout...and if the novice fly fisherman is a youngster, all the better. Rivers I fish are: West Fork of the Pigeon, Raven's Fork, Oconoluftee, Nantahala, Tuckaseegee, and Straight Fork. HALF-DAY RATES: One person $150, two persons $225. FULL-DAY WADE TRIPS: One person $200, two persons $300. HALF-DAY FLOAT TRIPS: $225 one or two persons. All full-day trips includes lunch. Above prices do not include gratuities.
